Partnering with CBA Gretna

We have a unique and fun opportunity to be a BLESSING to Sarpy County, and we’d like to invite you to participate! Christian Brothers Automotive in Gretna is hosting a National Service Day on Saturday, October 18 from 8am to 2pm at their shop on 180th and 370. On this day, they offer free oil changes and minor repairs to those in need - no strings attached - as a way to demonstrate the love of Christ.

We have the privilege of partnering with them in two unique ways. First, CBA has 30 slots available to service vehicles for people. They’ve asked us to invite friends and family who could benefit from a free oil change to sign up using their online scheduler. Second, CBA will be serving refreshments, and would like to give us the opportunity to serve alongside their team by hosting guests during their visit. We’re excited about this event because we want to be the kind of church that demonstrates and proclaims the gospel in word and deed, and this event gives us the opportunity to do that by partnering with a local business to bless and serve our community.

To that end, we’re asking you to help us bless Sarpy County in two ways: 1) invite your friends and family to sign up for a free oil change and 2) sign up to serve a one hour time slot on the 18th. CBA has given us a link for sign ups and an invite script to make it easy. The goal is to have all 30 slots filled by Saturday, October 4. If each household invited just one person, we’d have all the slots filled in no time. Our desire is to use this opportunity to spark evangelistic conversations with people in our relational networks by directly inviting people we have personal relationship with to be our guests at Chritian Brothers. For that reason, we ask that you promote this event through direct invites instead of social media posts.

I wanted to invite you to receive a free oil change as part of something I'm doing with several friends from Harbor Church and in partnership with Christian Brothers Automotive Gretna! Since 2005, Christian Brothers locations have gone to each of the communities they serve to celebrate National Service Day. What began with one store providing oil changes to single moms has expanded into more than 300 stores finding unique ways to make an impact. Each year, this event allows them to live out their guiding principle, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

On Saturday, October 18, several Harbor Church members will serve alongside team members from Christian Brothers Automotive Gretna as they open from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM to serve guests within our community by providing free oil changes, minor repairs, potentially heavier services and refreshments.
